This section defines service level agreement and identifies requirements and its elements. A
service level agreement is a contract between customer and provider specifying the service
functionality and all management interactions of the customer-provider relationship including the
required service level. For complex long-term services these management interactions are as
important as the service functionality to achieve a successful outsourcing partnership during the
total SLA lifetime.
