The Common Information Model (CIM) [#!cim22!#] introduces a management
information model that claims to integrate the information models of
existing management architectures; CIM acts as an umbrella that allows
to exchange management information in an unrestricted and loss-free way.
The Core Model [#!corewp1!#] gives a formal definition of a service and
allows hierarchical and modular composition of services consisting of
other services. However, the focus is on technical
details of the service implementation and does not include a notion of
domains, such as customer and provider.
